What I collect, and what I don't

The newsletter

If you sign up for the K-Tech Labs Deals Sheet, I collect your email address. That's it — no name, no address, nothing else.

I use it to send you the Deals Sheet and the occasional note about what I'm working on. I don't sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone advertising to you.

The list is handled by Kit, an email service. Your address is stored on their systems, which means their privacy policy applies to it as well as mine.

The Deals Sheet

The Deals Sheet is built automatically each week from Best Buy's public product data. It lists parts rated 4.7 stars or higher from at least 50 reviews that are currently selling below their regular price.

Nothing about you goes into it. It's the same page for everyone, and opening it doesn't tell me who you are or what you looked at.

Links to other sites

Pages here link out to retailers, manufacturers and my own channels on YouTube and TikTok. Once you follow a link you're on someone else's site, under their rules, not mine.

I don't currently use affiliate links. If that changes, I'll say so plainly on the page where it applies and update this policy — you shouldn't have to go looking to find out whether a link earns me anything.

Analytics and tracking

This site doesn't run Google Analytics or any other tracking service. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.

The site loads a font from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see the request. That's the only third party involved in loading a page.

Whoever hosts the site keeps standard server logs — the sort of thing every web server records, including IP addresses and which pages were requested. I don't use those logs to build any picture of individual visitors.

Children

This site is meant for a general audience and isn't aimed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child has signed up, email me and I'll remove the address.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from any email, using the link at the bottom of it.
• Ask me what I hold about you — realistically, an email address.
• Ask me to delete it. I'll do it and confirm.
• Read the site without signing up for anything. Nothing here requires an account.

Changes to this policy

If what I collect changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top will tell you when. If the change is significant and you're on the list, I'll mention it in an email rather than quietly editing the page.
